The Seminar\u2019s aim is to bring together researchers from the JIHS and the Institut Pasteur network to exchange ideas, showcase ongoing research, and explore opportunities for international collaboration in health security.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The session kicked off with welcome remarks by Dr. Norihiro Kokudo, President of JIHS, who shared that the Seminar series is part of a new chapter in scientific collaboration between JIHS and IPJ, which was formalized through a recent MOU signing. Read more about the signing <a href=\"https:\/\/pasteur.jp\/en\/2026\/03\/17\/japan-institute-for-health-security-and-institut-pasteur-du-japon-sign-mou-on-health-security-collaboration\/\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following Dr. Kokudo\u2019s remarks, Dr. Richard Paul (Institut Pasteur) presented on the Nam Theun 2 Hydroelectric Project and its implications for vector-borne diseases. Dr. Moritoshi Iwagami (JIHS) then shared his research on malaria elimination under the Laos SATREPS project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The session concluded with a lively Q&amp;A discussion, and closing remarks by Dr. Philippe Buchy of Institut Pasteur du Laos<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please stay tuned for Session 2, which is planned for September.
