On November 25, 2024, the Institut Pasteur du Japon (IPJ) and Hokkaido University’s Institute
for Vaccine Research and Development (IVReD) entered into a collaborative partnership,
signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at a ceremony held at the Hokkaido University
Tokyo Office.
IVReD aims to prevent future pandemics by establishing a system that can quickly mobilize
vaccines made in Japan. The institute promotes a flexible research and development and
information gathering system by leveraging both domestic and international networks to
advance vaccine development.
Under the terms of the MOU, IPJ and IVReD will collaborate to raise funds, share insights and
non-confidential information related to research, development, and innovation, and facilitate
educational and scientific exchanges among scientists and students. This partnership marks a
crucial step forward in advancing the development of vaccines and combating emerging
infectious diseases.
